Ijebu-Igbo Defies Lockdown, Mourns As Kashamu Is Buried

Ijebu-Igbo, the hometown of the deceased Senator Buruji Kashamu was enveloped in sorrow and lamentations on Sunday as the remains of the man they lauded a great philanthropist was laid to rest.

Senator Kashamu who died of complications from COVID-19 died on Saturday in Lagos.

He was lowered to earth just before 1.00 p.m amidst outpouring of grief from the people of the town who defied COVID-19 guidelines on social distancing to pay their last respects.

Before the burial, Governor Dapo Abiodun visited the residence of the politician which was enveloped by hundreds of sympathisers from the community who lamented his exit.

He was described as a benefactor by several of the people who wore mournful looks as the burial was going on.
