Sanwo-Olu Meets With ‘Calm Down’ Boy And Family

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday finally met with the key actor in the viral Mommy Calm Down video, Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola and his family.

The meeting at the Government House, followed the note by the governor of meeting the boy famed with the prodigious skill of negotiating himself out of his mother’s punishment.

The 4-year old boy, had in a viral video had sought to use convincing words to persuade his mother who wanted to beat her for an offence, saying “mummy calm down” and “last chance.”

The video of the incident became the subject of discourse on the social media which attracted the attention of the governor.

Addressing Lagosians in his Sallah celebration message, Sanwo-Olu had urged residents to calm down during the Sallah celebration, in the view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We need to be moderate in our celebration and also observe prescribed protocols towards defeating the deadly coronavirus, which are, maintaining social distancing, washing and sanitizing our hands, and using our face masks.

The world needs responsibility and commitment of its people to oust coronavirus.

“I urge every Lagosian to ‘calm down’ and not get carried away by the ‘excitement of the moment’. Like the rest of the world, we are still in the middle of a pandemic and need to remain extremely careful to keep the gains of the sacrifices we have all made in the past months.

 “Meanwhile, I would like to meet the young boy since we both have exclusive right to the phrasal verb ‘calm down, ” Sanwo-Olu said.
