Mailafia Gets M/Belt Backing As He Meets DSS

Middle Belt leaders were on Wednesday mobilizing to give emotional and moral support for erstwhile deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Dr. Obadiah Mailfia following his claim that a Northern Governor was one of the sponsors of Boko Haram.

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Jos had upon the revelation asked him to appear in its Jos office on Wednesday.

Mailafia confirmed the development to Punch in Jos on Tuesday.

He said, “Yes, it true. The DSS invited me to appear in their Jos office tomorrow (Wednesday) by noon.”

Mailafia had in a recent interview granted Nigeria Info alleged that a repentant Boko Haram commander squealed out that a serving governor in Northern Nigeria as being one of the sponsors of the group.

Malifia, who was the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in the 2019 election, also revealed that the terrorists were planning to launch a civil war in Nigeria.

In commentary on social media following the news of the invitation many people from the Middle Belt called for support for Dr. Mailafia with assertions that his claim was nothing new.

However, the manner of support being mobilized for the former banker was not known.
