Man Chained 32-Year-Old Son For 15 Years – Police

The Kano State Police Command has rescued a 32-year-old man identified as Ibrahim Lawan who was allegedly held captive by his father for 15 years.

It was learnt that man was caged and chained in a room for yet-to-be disclosed reasons.

The victim’s father was simply identified as Mallam Lawan, who is said to be the chief imam of the mosque in the area they lived.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano Police Command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, said the victim was rescued at Sheka Unguwar Fulani area of Kano, following reports from neighbours and activists.

Kiyawa noted that the victim has been moved to a hospital for treatment and investigation has commenced over the incident.

Recall that, on Thursday, one Aliyu, a resident of Farawa Babban Layi in Mariri quarters of Kumbotso local government area in Kano, was rescued by the police and human rights groups, after being chained by his parents for seven years.
