Oshiomhole Can’t Change Words On Ize-Iyamu – Orbih

The Chairman of Edo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, Chief Dan Orbih, has urged voters to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the forthcoming gubernatorial election on the basis of claims made by former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Orbih made the call while addressing a crowd of PDP supporters in Ugbegun, Ward 10, in Esan West Local Government Area of the state, during the reelection campaign rally of the Edo State Governor and PDP candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

The Edo PDP campaign council chairman called on the electorate to reject the candidate of the APC who the former national chairman of the party, Comr. Adams Oshiomhole said is unfit to rule the state and cannot betrusted with public funds.

According to him, “Politicians must be careful about what they say. A former governor of this state told us about Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in 2016 that he was not a barrister.

“He also told us that the pastor is not fit to rule this state; he also told us that he cannot be trusted with public funds.

“To me, all what he said about his candidate has not changed. How can he make a u-turn and start telling Edo people to vote for that same man?

“Edo people are not fools; that is why I want to say that Oshiomhole is not a magician; he cannot turn white to black and black to white.”

Orbih continued: “Governor Obaseki remains the white man in this state’s politics; you can’t change the colour of what everybody has seen as white, to black.

“Oshiomhole cannot tell us in one breath that Obaseki is the best man for the job, only to come again and support the same person he condemned as a fake pastor, and someone that poured acid on a fellow student. Is that the kind of man you want to vote as your governor?”

“That is why politicians must be careful about what they say; you must stand by the truth. The best man that will move Edo forward is Obaseki,” he added.

On his part, Obaseki noted: “Even before I joined the PDP, you people have been supporting me. Now that I have joined the PDP is there anything left?

“I don’t have any doubt; I am convinced that you people have given me the go-ahead to be your governor in the next four years.

“Now that you people have given me the go-ahead, it means you all trust me, and I pledge to work more for you. The best way to express my gratitude to you is to work harder for the benefit of the majority of the people.

“By God’s grace, we are going to execute more people-oriented projects in this area. We have done a lot in this area and I will do more when I come back as governor.”

“I know that I need to bring more teachers to your schools, give youths empowerment and bring to you people, mechanised farming. I am going to do all of these with your votes,” the governor said.
