The Edo Democracy and Heritage Project (EDHP) has said that the attack on Edo born billionaire, Capt. Hosa Okunbo was politically motivated and  would be resisted by noble Edo indigenes, patriots and the ancestors.

Briefing journalists in Benin City, Press Secretary of Edo Democracy and Heritage Project (EDHP), Omorefe Felix Uhunmwunagho said the attack on the statesman and business mogul was not unconnected with the ploy to whittle Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Edo governorship election in the state.

“It has come to the cognizance of Edo Democracy and Heritage Project (EDHP) the incessant bashing of name, personality and integrity of our own very indomitable  and illustrious son of Edo soil, Captain, Dr .Hosa Wells Okunbo.

“The spate of coordinated attacks, with their attendants mode of vicious execution can best be described as the unconscionable actions by hungry attack-dogs and hirelings of no visible means of livelihood. Our forebears admonished us not to rejoice naysayers and political charlatans are tarnishing the image of noble men and women, for tomorrow may be your turn.

“We have concluded after a very deep evaluation of the seamless attacks and venomous indignation  against this quintessential icon of Edo kingdom, who doesn’t deserve this embarrassing treatment and wouldn’t want to fight dirty either in the public or anywhere else to avenge hurlings by character assassins against his hard earned reputation .

“Even with the clout and resources at his (Capt. Hosa Okunbo) disposal, but his pedigree will never allow him to deliberately concoct any wrong against our dear State and a sitting Governor,  rather all that matters to him is industry and wealth creation for our teeming unemployed youths, who are eminently deserving of empowerment; as well as resuscitation of Arts, Culture and Tourism dragnets of Edo  people,  as he has always done.” Uhunmwunagho said.

Uhunmwunagho pleaded with the Governor to as a matter of urgency separate governance from politics by appointing an experienced politician to help him bridge and manage the relationship of the political wing of his administration.
