Despite SARS Ban, Protesters Block Lagos Highway, Want Police Salary Increased
The campaign against police brutality under the aegis of #EndSARS continued on Monday in Lagos despite the unprecedented somersault of the Federal Government and the Nigerian Police in agreeing to disband the Special Anti Robbery Squad on Sunday.
The protesters laid siege to the busy Victoria Island – Lekki Expressway crippling traffic on the road.
Those protesting on Monday were calling for the release of all protesters presently incarcerated in the course of the last week of protest, justice for victims of police brutality among other demands.
Remarkably, the protesters on Monday were also asking for an increase in the salary of policemen and a neutral body to investigate cases of misbehaviour by policemen.
