Mbaka Under Fire Over Claim Of Criminals And Liars Around Buhari

The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has come under intense criticism over his comments against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration

Mbaka, on Sunday, in his homily titled ‘Impute Heart’ said Buhari has surrounded himself with those who feed him with lies, noting that the president could have been a solution.

The controversial Catholic priest noted that the recent #EndSARS protests was not about #EndSARS but against bad governance.

The cleric, who has been touted as a friend of Buhari, alleged that security operatives shot dead #EndSARS protesters in Enugu state and dumped their bodies in Onyeama valleys.

The cleric said, “This is not about #EndSARS or IPOB. Nobody is fighting any government; we are fighting bad governance.

“Few days ago, at Miliken Hill, after New Market, (in Enugu), people discovered corpses of those that were shot and killed during the recent protest.

“They dumped people’s corpses there while families of those young men and women continued searching for them.

“That is why I am telling you that Nigeria can never be the same again. Did you expect these young men to keep watching the country being swindled and looted dry by the so-called leaders?

“Buhari, who could have been a solution to this, succeeded in encircling himself with criminals and hooligans. People, who do not just tell him lies but rather, they magnify lies; lies with NAFDAC number – and feed him.”

Mbaka’s comments have sparked criticism on the microblogging platform, Twitter.

Some Nigerians dismissed the comments of Mbaka, arguing that he was part of those who brought Buhari into power and even supported his re-election.

They argued that the cleric totally condemned the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, while promoting Buhari as a saint.
