What Nigerians Are Saying On Umahi’s Defection

The decision of the governor of Ebonyi State to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 election has sparked reactions on social media.

GWG had earlier reported that the governor had disclosed plans to leave the PDP to the national leadership of the party.

This decision of the governor was, however, not strange to some as the governor has befriended the Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government more than any other PDP governor.

The governor even commissioned and named a glass tunnel after President Buahri and was once quoted as saying that he won’t criticize President Buhari because of their friendship.

His seeming decision to quit the PDP for the APC did not come as a surprise to many because of their antecedents with the APC ruling party.

Some social media users took to Twitter on Wednesday to state their views. GWG brings some of them below:
