Fleeing Faisal, Arrested, Joins Dad In Custody
Like his father who jumped bail and was re-arrested, Faisal Maina, son of the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Taskforce Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, has been arrested.
News of his arrest came at the hearing of the forfeiture of the asset of his surety, Umar Dan-Galadima, a member of the House of Representatives.
At the hearing of the forfeiture of the pledge given by Dan-Galadima on Thursday, his lawyer, M.E. Sherif had told the court hearing the case, Justice Okon Abang to suspend the hearing on the claim that Faisal was arrested on Wednesday.
“My lord, I was reliably informed that the Defendant had been arrested. He was arrested last night and he is in custody,” the lawyer submitted.
The arrest was also confirmed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC prosecuting counsel, Mr. Faruk Abdullah.
The development came a week after Faisal’s father, Abdulrasheed Maina was extradited to the country after jumping bail.
He was arrested by INTERPOL in Niamey, Niger Republic after a bench warrant had been issued for his arrest.
