Reactions As Sunday Igboho Defines Yoruba Agenda
By Emmanuel Adigwe
The news that popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, arrived Igangan, Oyo State, to chase out Fulani herders after he had given then a seven-day ultimatum has sparked reactions on social media.
According to reports, Igboho, stated that Seriki, a popular herder, must leave the town, as many people have alleged that he was behind the insecurity in the area.
On Friday, the activist and his supporters stormed the area to “push out” the Fulani herders.
In a swift reaction, the government of Oyo State called for the arrest of the activist. However, Igboho dared the governor to arrest him as he stated that he cannot be threatened in the land of his ancestors,
Reacting to this development, some Nigerians took to the micro-blogging platform to commend the activist for stepping up saying that since the government has failed to protect the people, the likes of Igboho were God-sent.
