OPC Begs Igbo Governors To Adopt Kanu’s ESN

The Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC has called on Southeast governors to back the Eastern Security Network, ESN recently thrown up by Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. The OPC based the call on the Igbo governors to adopt Kanu’s ESN on the need to prevent criminals who flee the Southwest from taking refuge in the Southeast.

The OPC said the advise was coming in the wake of successes thrown up by Amotekun, the regional security network weaved by the Southwest governors especially in Oyo and Osun States.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oguntimehin, the OPC said that it was very hopeful that the security issues in the Southwest would soon fizzle away.

“It is obvious that the south west security outfit has all it takes to flush out the bad elements in the region,” he said.

Oguntimehin as such urged Igbo governors to adopt Kanu’s ESN so that criminals that flee the Southwest do not embed in the Southeast.

“The governors should come up with a lasting approach like that of the South West to rid the region of criminals masquerading as herdsmen.

“Now that the Southwest is doing everything that is necessary to rid the region of criminal elements, including killer herdsmen and kidnappers, the southeast remains their next target and destination for destruction.

“It is advisable for the governors of the South East to enforce a better approach and modalities for securing the region using the Eastern Security Network (ESN),” he advised in calling on the Igbo governors to adopt Kanu’s ESN.

He also called for restructuring of the country saying that that is the only way that the energies of the country can be properly unleased.

“The tendency for Nigeria to be great as a country is high if we can restructure the country, using true federalism on the basis of regionalism.

“The component units that make up the country will grow and develop independently without looking up to Abuja for solutions, especially on problems that had to do with insecurity,” he noted.
