Boko Haram Frees Pastor One Day To Execution

Pastor Bulus Yikura, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram and given up till March 4 to be ransomed has been freed, Premium Times has reported.

The circumstances of the release of the pastor have not been revealed but the newspaper’s correspondent reported sighting him as he was conveyed to the office of the Department of State Services, DSS towards dusk on Wednesday.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that Boko Haram had given the Federal Government and the authorities to pay a ransom for his release or he would be killed within seven days.

In the video circulated by Boko Haram Yikura was seen calling on the Federal Government, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to save him as he said that the Boko Haram had vowed to kill him within seven days.

In the video, Pastor Yikura was seen kneeling in front of a masked Boko Haram man who held a dagger to his face. According to him he had until Thursday, March 4 to be ransomed or he would be killed.

“I have been given only seven days to appeal for assistance that will help me out of this torture.

“If truly you want to rescue me from this untold suffering and threat to life, then you have to act fast.

“I am also calling on the EYN president to help mobilise help that will rescue me, and also pray for me so that God will make things easy for me here,” he said in the video.

Upon the development, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN had appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and the authorities to do whatever necessary to see to the release of the pastor.

The House of Representatives also followed up with a motion calling for the release of the abducted pastor.

GreenWhiteGreen is not able to confirm if the Federal Government paid a ransom for the release or exchanged prisoners or did a deal with the terror group.
