Cheers As Okafor Returns To APGA

Social Democratic Party, SDP House of Representatives candidate for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Anambra State Federal Constituency in 2019, Hon Chuka Sunnyside Okafor has led over 100 coordinators from his political family to defect to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Hon. Okafor who was a former member of APGA, before he joined SDP to contest for the House of Representative seat, returned  to the ruling party in the state with his friends and supporters.

He added that he left APGA when some individuals hijacked it and started running the party against the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers.

“I went to SDP to contest the House of Representatives election not for personal aggrandizement, but to get justice for our constituency that has been marginalized for a long period of time.

“People from Nnewi North are occupying the senatorial and House of Representatives seats, yet they still want us to vote for Nnewi man during governorship election, for me I think this development is an affront on the people of Nnewi South.

“I am passionate about going to House of Representatives to get redress for this injustice, returning to APGA with all my supporters and friends is going to be a big boost to getting the redress.

He said that the November 6, 2021 governorship election in the state, will be a walkover over other political parties by APGA, adding that the party has done so well that it has got the confidence people of the state.

According to him, “Anambra State is the headquarter of Igboland and we are prepared to repeat the 2013 feat because the party is the only one that can protect Igbo interest in Nigeria.”

In his address, the Chairman of APGA in Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon Osuchukwu Azubuike, thanked Hon. Okafor for returning to APGA, saying that APGA is not just a political party, but a family and a movement which would win the November 6 governorship election with a landslide victory.

“APGA will surprise all the opposition political parties in the governorship polls because it is deeply rooted in the state, adding that the is the only political party in which collective and individual aspirations can be actualized.”

Also speaking the Transition Commitee Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon Chiloka Okoye, described Hon Okafor as a big catch for APGA.

“He has always been a strong member of APGA, who went to SDP to try his popularity, he is returning to APGA, when all hands are needed on the deck for its victory in next governorship election.

Hon Okafor’s triumphant return to APGA, saw prominent politicians in Nnewi South Local Government Area and beyond trooping to his Ochi International Hotel, Amichi to witness the event.
