OAP Toke Makinwa has asked those who don’t value and appreciate themselves why they need the validation of others so much before believing in themselves.
Toke Makinwa sharing her view on how some people don’t appreciate themselves if they don’t get an award or be commended by others asked why they need the validation of others so much before appreciating themselves.
According to her, you the individual knows your story and your journey therefore if no one awards you, you award yourself, and even if no one celebrates you, you celebrate yourself and keep succeeding and getting ready for the bigger waves.
Toke Makinwa is not trying to say getting an award or the validation of others isn’t good but then she’s trying to let us know that you the individual have to appreciate yourself knowing how far you have come and not waiting for others to appreciate you.
Most people tend to do the mistake of belittling themselves just because they weren’t acknowledged or awarded for something they did and that is what Toke Makinwa is trying to draw our attention to that it’s not a must to have an award before you appreciate yourself.
Therefore, even if no one wards you or celebrates you you have to do so yourself because you know your story better than anyone and as well knows how far you have come and that is worth a celebration.
