Nazarite Consecration: Our Call To Duty

Published

on

For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. Judges 13:5.

The child to be born to Mrs. Menoah as was seen here was to take up the consecration of a Nazarite from birth and as such, must not take alcohol throughout his life, verse 4.

This was especially unusual because the calling to be a Nazarite was normally for a period and not life long.

Now because of this, the mother would also take up the Nazarite vow during her pregnancy.

This was because God recognised the baby in the womb as a living person, the mother bearing  him must as such not transfer what she ate to her baby, hence her Nazarite consecration during her pregnancy.

This life long calling of consecration is similar to the Christian call on consecration from the new birth.

Once we are born again we also take our own vow of consecration to God.

It is life long. Like what was expected of Mrs. Menoah’s baby, we are to hold on to our calling for life, not oscillating between the consecrated life and the ordinary life.

I was born to be his dwelling place

A home for the presence of the lord ,

So let my life now be separated unto thee

That i may be what i was born to be… Emmanuel ,, Emmanuel ,,,

His name is called , Emmanuel,

He is GOD with us , revealed in us ..

His name is called EMMANUEL!

Good Day
