He posted the tweet hours before the ongoing nationwide protest.

Dorsey’s tweet has since attracted thousands of retweets by Nigerians.

Last week, the Nigerian government suspended the operations of his microblogging platform over alleged undue interference.

The action was taken after the social media platform yanked off a tweet of President Muhammadu Buhari on the Civil War.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of information, who announced the Twitter ban, later accused Dorsey of raising funds for #EndSARS protesters.

#EndSARS protests held in October 2020. Protesters had taken to the streets to demand an end to police brutality.

Many police stations were set ablaze, while vehicles in hundreds were destroyed and malls looted in the violence that followed the protests.

The violence started after soldiers forcefully dispersed protesters at Lekki tollgate in Lagos.

The Federal Government says it is currently in talks with Twitter for the ban to be lifted but it has insisted that all social media companies in the country will be registered.
