Mrs  Rasheedat Adu,  Executive Chairman, Iru/ Victoria Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, has denied the allegation of certificate forgery of as concerning the SSCE/GCE result she presented for chairmanship screening.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iru-Victoria Island LCDA, Mr Akinwumi Bayoade, had alleged that the incumbent council chairman, Adu, had forged her GCE result to contest the forthcoming Local Government election.

Adu, in her response, told NAN that the allegation of falsification of the results was not true.

“All false allegations against me are not true, all these lies are fabricated because of politics.

“They can go to the school to verify the authenticity of my results. WAEC is also there for anybody to verify my results,” she said.

Bayoade said that Adu had forged her GCE result dated June 1987 with Certificate number, NGSG 045349A.

According to him, she submitted the false educational qualification as evidence of her eligibility to contest the forthcoming Local Government elections.

The aspirant said that the forged GCE result was to substantiate her claim of purportedly attending the Lagos State University (LASU).

According to him, she claimed to have attended LASU but in actual fact she didn’t have the prerequisite qualification for admission into the said university and she never attended the school.

Bayoade said that Adu actually had three subjects at credit level in her WAEC held in May/June 1987 with candidate number 15559043.

He said that meanwhile,  the minimum entry requirement for degree course in LASU is five credits including English and Mathematics.

“We also have every information, knowledge and facts in evidence of what Adu submitted as educational certificates in 2017 which was deficient as to how she claimed to be a product of LASU with O’ Level certificate number NGSG 0453489 and candidate No: 15559043.

“How did she get admission into the university which she claimed to have attended.

“Though we know the constitutional requirement is just a sitting for O’ Level, even without a credit to contest this election but when forgery and perjury is involved, this called  for questioning,” Bayoade had said.

NAN reports that Adu emerged as the APC Chairmanship candidate  for Iru/Victoria Island LCDA , after the party’s primaries on May 29, 2021.

The  State’s Council Elections will be  conducted by the Lagos State Electoral Commission (LASIEC) on July 24. (NAN)
