Breaking: Senator Nwaoboshi Defects To APC After Meeting Buhari

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi representing Delta North Senatorial District has announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC following a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, on Friday.

Nwaoboshi was escorted to the Presidential Villa by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who is also from Delta State.

The development for first time in the history of the Fourth Republic that the PDP would have a minority of senators from Delta State in the Senate.

Remarkably, Senator Nwaoboshi also represents the incumbent governor of the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa who is expected to contest the Senate seat against Nwaoboshi in 2023 at the end of his second term as governor.
