Delta 2023: Ijaw Have One Million Reasons To Be Governor – INC Spokesman

The gentleman zoning arrangement among senatorial districts in Delta State has ended and it is now the turn of the Ijaw to produce the next governor of the state, Engr Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, the publicity Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) has said.

Oyakemeagbegha observed that with the end of the first round of zoning and the Ijaw having faithfully respected it he said that the Ijaw can adduce one million reasons for the next governor of the state to come from the ethnic group.

“The second round it should start from the Ijaws, considering that the Ijaws have not had the opportunity, more also for all the sacrifices the Ijaws have made towards the development of the state,” he said.

Oyakemeagbegha spoke following consultations between the 2023 Delta Ijaw Governorship Agenda ( 2023DIGA) led by Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, a former Minister of Police Affairs and the apex Socio Cultural group of Ndokwa People , Ndokwa Neku Union at Ezhionum, Ukwuani Council Area of Delta State.

The INC spokesman observed that the Ijaw have one million reasons why they deserve the governorship more than any other ethnic group in the state noting the support the ethnic group has given to others who produced past governors of the state.

He noted the support the Ijaw gave for the emergence of Chief James Ibori, of the Urhobo ethnic nationality to emerge as Governor and also the rally behind the Ijaw for Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Itsekiri extraction to emerge as governor, which he said was also shown in the support for the emergence of the incumbent Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa from Anioma.

The INC spokesman added that the Ijaw were not without highly experienced and qualified personalities for the office of governor who he said are prepared spiritually and physically to govern the state.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that at the meeting that the Ijaw delegation listed three prominent Ijaw that were available for the position. The three named were Senator James Manager, Kingsley Otuaro, Deputy Governor of Delta State, and Dr. Braduce Amakazi Angozi, former commissioner for Agriculture.
