Sunday Igboho: Anxiety As Extradition Hearing Holds
The atmosphere is tinged with palpable tension and anxiety as court hearing on the extradition of the Yoruba nation freedom fighter and activist, Sunday Igboho, hold on Thursday (today) in Benin Republic.
The hearing will hold at 10 am today, Sunday Igboho spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, said during a live update.
He said the hearing will give the activist’s legal team the opportunity to present its case regarding the type of character Sunday Igboho his.
“The sitting will be held at 10 am in the morning at the Benin Republic court.
“The court will determine the fate of the extradition and we’ll also have the opportunity to present our case especially on the personality of Igboho”
He said they are not oblivious to the gravity of what the Nigerian government is trying to do to Igboho if they have him “but they will fail, by God’s grace”.
“Their intention was to capture him (Igboho), but God fought for him”.
Yoruba Nation Separatists Storm Cotonou Court Over Sunday Igboho Arrest
Recall that Sunday Igboho was arrested on Monday night by the International Criminal Police Organisation in Cotonou, Benin Republic while trying to leave the country for Germany.
Sunday Igboho was arrested after the Federal Government raised the alarm that the activist was making moves to fly out of the country.
The Oduduwa Republic agitator was declared wanted by the Department of State Services, DSS after raiding his house in Ibadan the Oyo State capital over alleged activities threatening the cooperate existence of the country.
He is currently in the custody of the operatives of Brigade criminelle in Cotonou.
