Footage from a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) has shown how a lady set the Lokogoma, Abuja branch of Ebeano Supermarket on fire.

Ebeano Supermarket with branches in some of the country’s major cities suffered a major loss when the mysterious fire engulfed its Lokogoma branch.

At the time of the incident, it remained a mystery how the fire came up and quickly enveloped the supermarket.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the fire on July 17 led to the destruction of properties worth millions of naira.

In a bid to quench the raging fire, firefighters from Asokoro, Garki, Games Village and the National Judicial Institute in Abuja were mobilized before the fire was stopped.

Mr Ibrahim Muhammad, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Fire Service, had following the Ebeano Fire incident said that the cause of the inferno was unknown.

Now, CCTV footage has revealed how a young lady went to the gas cylinder section of the supermarket, unarguably the most combustible section of the supermarket, and using lighters sold at the section to set the place on fire.

The CCTV footage clearly showed the lady approaching and setting one of the lighters on and walking away.

Prince Ebeano Supermarket is a partnership between two brothers, Mr Sunday Egede and Mr David Ojei from Agbor, Delta State who have stretched the chain from Lagos to Abuja.

The partnership is reportedly based on a 50-50 agreement. The directors’ vast knowledge and experience in retail business have been deployed in the management of Prince Ebeano Supermarket since the agreement was signed in 2009 which has seen the supermarket chain spread from Lagos to Abuja.
