Nollywood Mourns As Veteran Actor Who Played Warrior Roles Dies

Renowned Yoruba actor, Ganiyu Oyeyemi Ogunjimi, has passed away, leaving the entire Nollywood industry and fans in mourning.

His demise was announced by actor Kunle Afod on Friday through his Instagram page, leading social media users to pen tributes in his honor.

Ogunjimi is renowned for his captivating portrayal of fearless warriors in battle scenes and his compelling performances as a wizard in movies involving witchcraft.

He affortlessly portrayed roles as a warrior and herbalist, often starring alongside Abija, Lalude, Fadeye, Dagunro, and others.

Reportedly, his career came to an abrupt halt in 2014 when he was arrested by the Osun State Police Command for allegedly raping one of his daughter’s friends in Osogbo, his hometown.

However, news of his passing emerged after Kunle Afod, renowned for supporting legendary actors, shared an old photo of him with the caption ‘RIP’.

He wrote, “We tried our best but God loves you more May his soul rest in peace Baba Ogunjinmi RIP Sun re oooo”.
