Nnamdi Kanu: Sowore Nabbed In Court Premises

Social cum political activist, Omoyele Sowore, was arrested at the Federal High Court Abuja as the court resumed the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu  GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports.

It was learnt that Sowore was picked up in the court premises while he was doing a Facebook Live session on Monday morning before even Nnamdi Kanu arrived.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported tension around Abuja and especially in the vicinity of the court premises near to the Three Arms Zone

Meanwhile, security agencies have barred all but ten media organisations from covering the trial of Nnamdi Kanu.

Policemen alongside a detachment of operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS were at hand to enforce the strict control into the premises of the court.

Besides Sowore,  GreenWhiteGreen GWG gathered that at least three supporters of, Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader were also arrested.

The media organisations accredited by the DSS to cover the trial are Daily Post, ThisDay, Premium Times, The Nation, Daily Independent, The Herald, National Television Authority, Television Continental, African Independent Television and Channels Television.

Besides  GreenWhiteGreen GWG, other media organisations barred from covering the trial of Nnamdi Kanu include The Punch, The Guardian, Vanguard, Daily Trust, Tribune, Daily Sun, The Cable, and Daily Times, among others.

Saharareporters which was founded by Omoyele Sowore was also barred from entering the court to observe the trial of Nnamdi kanu;

No reason was given by the DSS for the decision to restrict the coverage of the trial.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG further reports that Kanu was yet to be brought to court as at 11.45 a.m.
