Five Tips for New Nigerian Mothers

on

Congratulations!! Being a new mother comes with a mixed feeling – joyful and frustrating – there is no manual on how to handle all of the new demands.

However, we can offer you some tips you may find useful.

Ignore Advice If Not Working

You are likely to get lots of advice from many well-wishers during this time, even when you didn’t seek it. Don’t be afraid to ignore any advice you find outrageous or discover not working for you. You are the mother and the one experiencing this.

Exercise

Do not hesitate to hit the gym once cleared by the doctor. Take no time to get back to shape. You don’t have to lose your curvy and beautiful shape all because you are now a mother. Mothers slay too!!

Sleep

You don’t necessarily need to have a sleepless night all in the name of attending to your baby. Discuss with the father to help out with some things and sometimes attend to the baby while you sleep. You deserve to rest!

Don’t Overwork Yourself

It is alright, you are most likely not to get everything done perfectly. Do not try to always be perfect, at least not this time. Trust yourself while remaining careful.

Feed Well

You will need to feed your baby breast milk. This is why new moms need to feed well to nourish breast milk. Aside from that, you also need to look good and good food (a balanced diet) is the surest way to go.
