Court Sentences PDP Leader To One Year Imprisonment For Insulting Buhari
A youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Ikamu Kato, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment for insulting President Muhammadu Buhari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.
The PDP youth leader was sentenced to imprisonment by the Chief Magistrate’s Court 4 sitting in Yola, Adamawa State on Monday.
The PDP youth leader was earlier remanded in prison custody over a case allegedly instituted by loyalists of the SGF, under the aegis of Adamawa Concerned Citizens, headed by Husseini Gambo.
Kato was invited and arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Adamawa State by the Department of State Services (DSS) through the office of the state Attorney General last week.

He was said to have called out Buhari and the SGF on Facebook over their failure to secure the lives of residents following an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on the Dabna community, the council where Boss Mustapha hails from.
Over 20 persons were said to have been killed by the terrorists during the attack.
The Chief Magistrate, Dimas Elishama, after taking a plea of guilt from the PDP youth leader on Monday convicted Kato and sentenced him to one year imprisonment for the use of insulting or abusive words with an option of N25,000 fine.
