Uproar Against Secondus: PDP Calls For Calm
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was on Tuesday evening calling for calm amidst a meltdown at the national leadership occasioned by allegations of ineffectiveness directed at the national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus.
Addressing journalists, spokesman for the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan called for calm as he said that the party had already activated its internal dispute resolution mechanisms to resolve the issues.
 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the crisis was prompted by the resignation of seven deputies and members of the National Executive Committee, NEC who alleged incompetence among others on the part of Secondus.
Responding for the first time, on the crisis, Ologbodoinyan who had been more used at finding faults of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC was somber as he called for calm from all stakeholders.
Ologbondiyan said: “The National Working Committee of our great party at its meeting today, received the notice of the resignation from deputies who are elected members of the National Executive Committee.
“The meeting of the National Working Committee and the deputies immediately took place to dialogue on the issues that were raised. The party will look into the grievances raised by members of NEC as well as members of the National Working Committee.
“The internal conflict resolution mechanism of our party has also been immediately activated to put these issues behind us.
“We call on all the leaders, stakeholders and members of our great party to remain calm as we collectively resolve these issues.
