Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state and the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, has expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for his visit.

The Nigerian leader, Buhari, visited his ally, Tinubu, in London on Thursday, August 12 before his return flight to Nigeria.

A statement Friday night by Tinubu’s Media Office described the visit as “a friendly and welcome one”.

It noted that the gesture underscored Buhari’s “considerate and caring personality”.

Tinubu mocked those speculating that all is not well between him and Buhari.

“Mr President has, again, demonstrated his personal thoughtfulness and humility; defying the erroneous commentaries peddled by his critics.”

Tinubu hailed Buhari for the time and wished him “the very best as his administration continues to govern and lead the nation.”

The former Lagos Governor has been in the United Kingdom, since July, for medical treatment.

Asiwaju, as fondly called, reportedly underwent another surgery and is expected back home this month.

There are insinuations he will be contesting for the presidency seat come 2023.

A group, Yoruba Welfare Group (YWG), enjoined Buhari and APC not to allow themselves to be pushed to betray the National Leader of the party.

Meanwhile,

Bode George, former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rubbished the thought of Tinubu aspiring to the presidency, saying he lacks what it takes to lead the country.

George said Tinubu is not the kind of person that should aspire to the highest office in the land because of questions around his person and character.

George alleged that Tinubu benefits from the resources of the Lagos State Government on a monthly basis.
