Osun Govt Orders Investigation Into Death Of Seven Family Members

The Osun State Government has ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a family of seven, on Tuesday, in Apomu, Isokan Local Government Area of the state.

It was earlier reported that seven out of eight members of a family in Oke Suna community in Apomu mysteriously died in their sleep on Tuesday.

A 14-year-old member of the family survived and is currently responding to treatment at a hospital in Apomu.

Their corpses were rejected at Oluyoro hospital and were referred to OAU teaching hospital for autopsy.

The state government, however, on Wednesday sympathized with the community and ordered that an autopsy be carried out on the corpses of the seven members of the family who were reportedly found dead in their abode.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Health, Rafiu Isamotu, the government also reiterated its commitment to security and welfare of its citizens and that it would go the whole hog to unravel the circumstances leading to the mysterious deaths.
