The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is struggling to find its feet after the loss of several of its officials including the Chairman, Dr. Adegbola Dominic.

There is confusion in the party over who is the authentic chairman as the battle for the office raged between Engr. Deji Doherty and Dominic till the latter’s death last week.

Dominic’s death was preceded by that of the secretary of the party, Prince Muiz Shodipe-Dosunmu. Both were said to have died as a result of complications from COVID-19.

A chieftain of the PDP in Agege, Lagos Engr. Auwal Tahir-Maude said many members are confused over the leadership of the party.

Currently, the party is said to be in disarray with its problem worsened by the recent loss of Dominic, Prince Muiz Shodipe-Dosunmu, its Lagos West vice chairman, Alhaji Monsuru Ajagbe and its women leader, Yeye Shola Oladehinbo.

When contacted yesterday for comments, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, said he was not aware of the development.

Besides the spate of death, the PDP in Lagos was recently bruised by its defeat in the Lagos State Local government elections. The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC cleared all the chairmanship seats and all but a trinkling of the councillor positions.
