Delta APC Prepares For Isoko By-Election, Expels Stalwart

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has expelled a leading stalwart of the party in Isoko area of the state, Emakpor Odogu over allegations bothering on impropriety and anti-party activities.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the expulsion coming ahead of the weekend state constituency by-election may be indicative of the opposition party’s determination to put its house in order to win what is generally seen as a crucial test in the political base of its state’s chairman.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG further reports that indicative of the quest to win the seat where social crusader and activist Ogaga Ifowodo is standing as the party’s candidate, that Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege did a campaign swing through the constituency last weekend.

Affirming what it claimed were revulsions against the activities of Odogu, the state’s publicity secretary, Sylvester Imonina in a statement said the state exco had received reports from Emede Ward 5, and Isoko South Local Government Working Committee of our great Party wherein serious allegations were levelled against Mr. Emakpor Odogu whose name appears as No. 2 in the Party’s register in Unit 2, Emede Ward 5.

Among the allegations raised against the Isoko, Delta State APC stalwart were:

–           Insubordination and disobedience to lawful directives of the Party.

– Causing disunity amongst members of the Party in Emede Ward 5 and Isoko South chapter of the Party because of his ulterior and insidious motives.

– Carrying out activities that are inimical to the progress, and the name of the Party.

– Using himself as a purveyor and instrument of disaffection amongst the leadership of the Party in Isoko South.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG was unable to get through to Odogu to get his reaction to the allegations raised against him as concerning his affairs in Isoko, Delta State by the APC.
