Controversy Shadows Death Of Delta Comedian

Controversy was on Monday swelling around the cause of the death of up-and-coming Delta State-born comedian, Onomuakpokpo Ogheneochukome, aka Brakin Face after his decomposing body was found dead in his apartment in Ekpan.

The Delta State Police Command had on Monday confirmed the recovery of the decomposing remains of 23-year-old social media influencer, in his apartment.

There were no injuries to his body and the discovery came about four days after a search was started for him. The discovery has led to rumours that he may have been poisoned ahead of his first major show in Warri on November 27.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe who confirmed the discovery to journalists said that the comedian was found dead in his bedroom on Sunday.

The PPRO said the corpse was discovered by the victim’s sister at his apartment on Otomiewo Street, Ekpan, in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to the police spokesman, the comedian had remained incommunicado since last Friday and friends, family and colleagues had claimed ignorance of his whereabouts.

It was even more worrying that his apartment was locked.

It was following the abortive search for him that the apartment was broken into leading to the discovery of the corpse.

The emerging comedian was expected to stage his first show that had been styled ‘Outsyd with Brakin Face’ on November 27 in Warri. It was learnt that some A-list artistes had been expected to perform at the show.
