Reno Omokri has come under attack from perceived APC socio media activists after he went on Twitter to attack the administration following the call by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for more devaluation of the naira.

Following the call, Omokri had criticized the vice-president and President Muhammadu Buhari saying “These men live off the taxes of Nigerians and feel the best way to repay us is to punish us!”

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Osinbajo had at the mid-term retreat on President Muhammadu Buhari’s second tenure on Monday, said that the exchange rate was artificially low, and thus a deterrence to foreign investors.

“As for the exchange rate, I think we need to move our rates to [be] as reflective of the market as possible. This, in my own respective view, is the only way to improve supply,” Osinbajo said.

He added: “We can’t get new dollars into the system, here the exchange rate is artificially low. And everyone knows by how much our reserves can grow. I’m convinced that the demand management strategy currently being adopted by the CBN needs a rethink, and that is just my view.

Reno Omokri had in a tweet immediately flayed Osinbajo saying:

Reno Omokri’s hit at Osinbajo not surprisingly took a twist with perceived political actors taking to Twitter to engage him.

Reno Omokri, however, got several other support as the majority of respondents supported his stance on the naira with some asking the Buhari Osinbajo administration to return Nigeria to where they met it in 2015.

I feel, either these leaders are desperately ignorant of what to do, or they are strongly being manipulated by a power greater than them. Even the wickedness of mere mortals usually have a limit to which it can go

If this government is able to return Nigeria back to how they met it 2015, they will be credited to have achieved something in their tenure. Take the country back to 2015 and let’s restart.
