Man Blames Devil After Raping Daughter’s 11-Year-Old Friend

A man named as Jacob Joel has been remanded in a Jos Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl.

It was learnt that the victim is a friend to the defendant’s daughter, the police informed the court.

Joel, 42, committed the act when the victim went to visit his daughter.

According to Newsmen, the prosecutor, Mrs L. P. Fombot told the judge that the minor did not meet her friend.

Fombot said the accused, who was home alone, dragged her into his room, scared her with a knife and had carnal knowledge.

The police officer added that Joel threatened the girl on several occasions, raping her repeatedly.

Joel was eventually caught by a school teacher when he took the minor to the bush for his usual defilement.

The defendant pleaded “not guilty” to the crime despite blaming the devil during police interrogation.

Justice S. P. Gang ordered his remand in prison until December 7. Joel risks life imprisonment.
