Omo-Agege’s Troops Gloat As Keyamo’s Ally Loses Bid To Reverse APC Congresses
A move by elements in the Festus Keyamo led tendency within the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC to upturn the momentum of the Ovie Omo-Agege led mainstream of the party in the state suffered a major setback at a State High Court, Asaba on Friday.
The development came after the court action inspired by the erstwhile deputy chairman of the party in the state, Elvis Ayomanor aimed at upturning the recent congresses in the state was turned down.
Following the judgment, supporters of the Omo-Agege led mainstream were basking in joy ahead of the weekend state congresses where their domination of the state party is expected to be fully ratified.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the Omo Agege tendency swept all positions in all wards in the state.
The court action by the Ayomanor led group followed the Supreme Court judgment on the Ondo State governorship election which raised questions on the legitimacy of the Mai Mala Buni led leadership of the APC. The court action had sought to sack Mai Buni as state chairman and by that also the nullification of the ward congresses conducted under his stewardship of the party.
Striking out the action on Friday, October 15, 2021, His Lordship, Honourable Justice G.B Briki-Okolosi of High Court 2, Asaba, also refused to set aside the LGA Congresses conducted in Delta State. He also awarded a cost of 100,000.00 in favour of each of the Defendants.
APC chatrooms were at the weekend basking in joy as they also praised the legal acumen of Omo-Agege, himself a lawyer and son of one of the state’s most erudite judges.
“I enjoin you all to go read the Legal Opinion of His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on the Jegede’s Judgment, where he intelligently argued that there is nothing stopping the APC from proceeding with the scheduled Ward Congresses across the Country,” one APC supporter said on Friday.
“Ovie Omo-Agege is an enigma, he get brain. Politics did not take him away from his first love, which is law. He is my Senior Advocate.”
There has been no reaction from neither Ayomanor nor Keyamo who has in any case not publicly associated with the court action.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported Ayomanor as vowing that he would never join the Omo-Agege Vanguard.
