GWG learnt that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday refused to give approval for media coverage of the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, in the terrorism charges against him.

GWG also learnt that Justice Nyako was said to have stood her ground not to permit newsmen into her courtroom on the ground that the list of the media men was not submitted to her for review.

All efforts by selected journalists to persuade security operatives to allow them into the courtroom were unsuccessful as the judge was said to have warned them against doing so.

At the time of writing this report, it was learnt that only a few journalists were allowed into the media center of the court as against the earlier arrangement.

Those supposedly meant to be allowed into the courtroom were seen still standing at the door.

Kanu was brought into the court premises at exactly 8:02 am heavily guarded by security men to prevent cameramen from recording his arrival at the court premises.
