PSG Mull Terminating Ramos’ Contract Following Lengthy Injury Spell

Paris Saint-Germain are growing tired of Sergio Ramos’ extended fitness issues and have not ruled out rescinding his contract in the near future.

The high-earning 35-year-old left Real Madrid in the summer to pen a lucrative two-year deal in Paris, but he arrived carrying an injury and is still yet to make his debut.

It’s a continuation of his final season in Spain, in which no fewer than eight injuries restricted Ramos to just 15 appearances in La Liga.

PSG took a gamble on Ramos and it is clearly yet to pay off, and according to Le Parisien, the Ligue 1 leaders are growing so tired of his continued absence that the idea of terminating his contract has been discussed.

The centre-back had been scheduled to return to training this week but continues to watch on from the sidelines, with PSG no longer putting an estimate on his return from the calf injury which he picked up back in July.

Some at the Parc des Princes have started to lose their confidence in Ramos’ ability to perform consistently at the highest level, and there are a few in the boardroom who have even gone as far as to label the move a mistake.

Terminating Ramos’ deal is not thought to be a priority at the minute, but there are growing voices suggesting that PSG should try and get themselves out of his expensive contract while they still can.
