Commissioner resigns

A day after her father was reportedly attacked by thugs allegedly aligned to the camp of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, Dr Hussaina Danjuma Goje has resigned her position as the Gombe State Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources.

Her father, Senator Danjuma Goje was the second civilian governor of Gombe State and had been reputed in some quarters as the political godfather of Governor Yahaya before their now rancorous falling apart.

Her resignation was conveyed in a statement on Saturday in which she appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity to serve the state.

“Today Saturday November 6, 2021, I wish to inform the general public and media organisations that I, Dr Hussaina Goje have tendered my formal resignation from my position as Honorable Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources to His Excellency the Executive Governor or Gombe State Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya effective today.”

“I also wish to inform that my resignation was made based on my personal reasons. With this, I wish to show my appreciation and the opportunity given to me by Governor Yahaya to serve as a member of the Executive Council this administration,” she said.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that her father who had served as a minister, two term governor and now three term senator was attacked by suspected thugs, who blocked his convoy on his way to Gombe. The thugs were alleged to be allies of the state governor.
