EndSARS Panel Report: Keyamo Under Fire

Following the dismissal of the States’ Judicial Panel Of Inquiry Into SARS-related abuses as illegal by the Minister of State for Labour, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) on Sunday in a television interview, Nigerian’s have taken to social media to react.

Mr. Keyamo made the statement when he was asked why the Federal Government through the Minister for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed dismissed the report of the Lagos State #EndSARS panel.

He said, “I will not answer this question as a sitting minister. I will answer this question as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria – a member of the Inner Bar, and so I am entitled to my opinion. This is not the Federal Government’s position. From me, that panel was an illegal panel. It was totally illegal.”

Reacting to his points, social media users slammed Mr. Keyamo, who some compared to Lai Mohammed for his constant dismissal of the massacre of the October 20, 2020 massacre at the Lekki Tollgate.

Others recalled his days of activism when he was constantly a thorn in the flesh of the sitting government. Some others had no time for decorum and resorted to calling him names.
