At least 14 students of the Millennium Grammar School, Grammar School Bus Stop, Lagos State were feared dead on Tuesday when a truck reportedly escaping from operatives of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC crushed them in the Ojodu area of Lagos.

The truck carrying crates of drinks has been set on fire by people around.

Sources disclosed that the students had just closed for the day when the truck ran into them.

Sources said that the casualty figure was between 14 and 17.

It was disclosed that the truck driver rammed into the students while making an attempt to flee from operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps who had flagged him down.

The incident has reportedly led to huge traffic all around the scene, stretching as far as the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogba and Lateef Jakande Road in Agidignbi.

Meanwhile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Tuesday said that he would fish out and be ruthless with government officials frustrating his efforts on housing development .

Sanwo-Olu gave the warning at the opening of  the 2nd Lagos Real Estate Market Place Conference and Exhibitions in Lagos, with the theme : Lagos: 21st Century Real Estate Investment Hub.

The governor said: “We know that for this size of city, there will be people that want to cut corners.

“We know that for the size of this city , there will be officers that have also brought us down, and that have reduced our name,  we know.

“We are not going to stand here and say that everybody that works for us is holy, but we are dealing with them. These are major issues and  all of us need to work together.
