Tony Adun, popularly known as Tony Kabaka, a former revenue collector in Edo state has appealed to Governor Godwin Obaseki to have mercy on him.

Kabaka made the plea in a viral video on social media.

Recall that Tony Kabaka, a strong Adams Oshiomhole ally, had been a very vocal critic of Governor Obaseki and usually resorted to making disparaging remarks at the Edo state governor.

The squabble intensified following the demolition of Kabaka’s T.Latifah Hotel and Suites by the Edo State Government for being an illegal structure.

However, Kabaka dragged the state government to court over the demolition, asking an Edo State High Court to order the rebuilding of his hotel.

Despite getting a favourable judgement from the Court last week, Kabaka has been sending reconciliatory messages to Governor Obaseki, who he described as his senior brother and blood. He called on the Obaseki to let ‘bygones be bygones, that he has learnt his lesson from the ordeal.

Gov Godwin Obaseki

“I did not win Governor Obaseki, he just use this one to draw my ear for me to learn not to be throwing utterances to your senior brother, so I have learned from this, I am begging everybody that is my supporter, they should stop castigating this issue so that they cannot provoke the governor.

Kabaka in the video further urged his supporters to stop castigating Obaseki, in order to avoid more issues with him.

“I want to beg all my followers that wish me well, I know you guys are trying for me but the way this my case between the Edo state government is going on social media, I don’t like it, that’s why people have not seen me come out and talk on the case.” Kabaka said

“One thing you should know, the Governor, Governor Godwin Obaseki is my uncle, is my senior brother, so people are just castigating this issue to trigger the governor more to be dragging me.”
