Magodo Residents Block Bulldozer From Demolishing Houses Following Court Judgement

Residents of Magodo Phase 2 Estate trooped out in their numbers to form a human shield to prevent a bulldozer from accessing the estate grounds to commence the demolition of houses following a court judgement.

According to the residents, police earlier visited the estate with a group of “hoodlums” and they “marked virtually all the houses in the fully-built Estate for demolition”.

Mobile police reportedly arrived again last night, Tuesday Dec. 21, and a bulldozer was also brought to begin demolition.

Following the development, the residents in solidarity moved to the estate gate to prevent the bulldozers.

Videos from social media shows the estate gate fully packed with residents as of 9.50 pm on Tuesday night.
