Commander of Islamic police known as Hisbah in Kano State, Sheik Harun Ibn Sina has revealed that the Sharia outfit will question the parents of Miss Shatu Garko, the winner of the 2021 Miss Nigeria pageant.

The Hisbah commander in an interview with BBC Pidgin said being an indigene of Kano state made Miss Garko’s participation illegal on the basis of sharia law

Shiekh Ibn Sina said, “We (Hisbah) have confirmed that Shatu Garko is a Muslim from Kano State and her parents are from Garko Local Government Area. Kano is a Sharia state and this is why we will not allow the matter to go like that. We will invite the parents to warn them about the actions of their daughter and the fact that what she did was illegal in Islam in case they don’t know so that she will not continue that path and also stop other girls copying her.”

Following the remarks made by the Hisbah commander, some Nigerians took to social media to air their opinion on the issue.

Some users slammed the hisbah police for lacking priorities, why others revealed they expect such to happen.
