The Federal Government and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have come under heavy fire from Twitter users following the lifting of the 7-month ban on the social media platform.

The lifting of the ban was announced in a statement by the DG, NITDA Dr Kashifu Abdullahi who serves as the Chairman Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement on Wednesday evening.

Following the announcement, users took to the platform to blast the Buhari administration, claiming the ban is only being lifted due to the coming elections.
