Ebonyi Govt Declares Former Rep, Linus Okorie, Wanted Over Facebook Post

Linus Okorie a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency has been declared wanted by the Ebonyi State government for publishing a critical article against the State on Facebook.

The article, according to the Government, is suspected to be the root cause of the beheading of an Ebubeagu Security operative (names withheld) in Ikwo Local Government Area of the State.

Hon. Linus Okorie  represented his constituency between 2011 to 2019.

The declaration was made known vide a joint Press Statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Cletus Afoke.

Recall that before Linus Okorie was declared wanted over the Facebook post, that Umahi, had on Monday condemned the crisis that erupted in Akaeze, Ivo Local Government Area of the state, which was reported to have led to loss of lives.

Umahi, who condemned the incident, said those involved in the killings will be made to face the full wrath of the law, not minding their positions in his government.

He also condemned the burning of the Akaeze Police Station and houses of the chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Chief Onyebuchi Ogbadu, and those of other goverment personalities in the area

He directed the prompt arrest of those involved in the dastardly act as captured in the video, which has been circulating on the social media, where ax-wielding persons were seen using the weapon to hack the body of their victims, who later died.
