There were mixed reactions on social media as Benin Republic extended the detention of Yoruba Nation activists Sunday Igboho.

This was disclosed by Igboho’s counsel, Yomi Aliyu (SAN) on Monday, 7th February, 2022.

He said, “the government of the Republic of Benin has renewed the incarceration of Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Igboho Oosa for another six months even though there is no criminal charge in their file in Cotonou and without extradition request from Nigeria.”

In reaction to Aliyu’s revelation, some social media users lamented his continued detention without charge, while others mocked the activist for not using his “juju” to escape from prison.
