The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed Sunday, March 27, and the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja for the second leg decider between Ghana and Nigeria that will determine which of the two football rival nations will go to the FIFA World Cup Tournament in Qatar.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Nigeria and Ghana are being made to contest for a slot having failed to automatically qualify from their groups during the qualifying rounds.

It will be the 59th clash between the two countries and the Abuja war will be after the first leg round to be hosted by Ghana.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the Nigeria leg of the fixture on Tuesday. The football federation is now waiting for Ghana to confirm the date for the first leg holding between Wednesday 23rd March and Thursday 24th March in the Cape Coast Stadium, Accra.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the match with Ghana in Abuja will be the first time in eight years that the Super Eagles would be playing in the Abuja Stadium. The last time the team played in the Abuja main bowl was in 2014 when Nigeria defeated Sudan’s Falcons of Jediane 3-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on 15th October 2014.

Nigeria reached the play-off round for Qatar after topping a qualifying pool that included Cape Verde, Liberia and the Central African Republic while Ghana emerged from the section that had South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia.
