Kano Hisbah Arrest 78 Youths For ‘Immoral Acts’

The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 78 youths of both sexes at an event centre in the city over alleged immoral acts and indecent dressing.

It was gathered that about 78 youths, both male and female were arrested during the raid.

The Director-General, Kano Hisbah Command, Harun Ibn Sina told Daily Trust that the youths were not arrested for conducting same-sex marriage as being reported.

The suspects were at an event centre called ‘White House’ in the Nassarawa GRA area of Kano.

“When we received the report, we went there and could not establish a fact that they were holding same-sex marriage but we caught them in a highly immoral situation both the males and females,” the Hisbah commander said.

He said the suspects also denied that they were officiating or in attendance of any same-sex marriage but rather celebrating the birthday of their peer.

The Kano Hisbah Commander added that all the 78 youths arrested for alleged immoral acts were currently under the custody of the command at the time of filing this report.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the Hisbah Board in Kano has in recent times been aggressively pursuing those its officials claim are in violation of the state’s strict moral laws, notably confiscating alcoholic drinks and arresting those in parties as it has now done.
