‘Best Owner Ever’, Reactions Trail Abramovich’s Decision To Sell Chelsea

There were sad football fans on social media following the decision of Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea Football Club as a fallout of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

Abramovich made his decision known in a statement released on Wednesday.

It reads, “I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC. As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the club’s best interest at heart.

“In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the club, the fans, the employees, as well as the club’s sponsors and partners,” the statement read in part.

In reaction some fans were sad about his impending departure from Chelsea, while some joked about buying the club.
