Thomas Tuchel has admitted that news of Roman Abramovich’s intention selling Chelsea has not ‘sunk in’ yet.

Tuchel was speaking after the Blues booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals by beating second-tier Luton Town 3-2.

A couple of hours before kick-off, the club was turned upside down by the revelation that long-term owner Abramovich was putting Chelsea up for sale.

Reacting to the events after the match, Tuchel admitted he was still processing what it all means.

“It’s big news, a bit too early for me to speak. It did not sink in yet. It’s a massive change of course,” he said.

“I’m not worried. I feel privileged and in a good place. I’m not a person who worries about things I can’t influence It’s big news and a big change but I am not scared of change. I’ll focus on what I can influence.”

Tuchel added that Abramovich’s future was not a topic of discussion for he and his staff in the dressing room, despite the news breaking so close to kick-off.

“We as a staff did not talk about it. Maybe you need to ask the players. We did not talk about it. We accepted that they have internet connections, that they watch TV. So of course, they knew. They get messages,” he said.
